Bowling and Babies in Kazakhstan

Good Day From The Other Side of the Globe!

Well, it is Tuesday evening and mom and I are sitting around trying to decide how to be clever with our blog. Lonnie has totally abadoned us for the neighbors, as they brought a whole chicken back to their room for supper. Well, you all can guess where Lonnie is. At least he waited until they invited him down. Maybe it was the drool hanging out the side of his mouth. :-) He has had an eventful day, as he went bowling with another father who is here, the same one who bought the chicken. They bowled for 1 hour for only 5 dollars a piece. Lonnie said they got just over two games in, and that the bowling alley, which is in our hotel, is really nice, computerized score keeping and all. Oh, and Lonnie also had sardines this evening as his appetizer to the chicken. They smelled rotten, and he was sittnig on the chair, ripping their heads and tails off as he ate them. I was about ready to puke, so I made him go in the bathroom and put the fan on and finish them....yuck!!!

Today was the usual with the visits to Marina. She was her usual pleasant self. She is vocalizing a ton now and I think she recognizes us when we go to pick her up. I walk in and say "Hi, Munchkin", and her whole face lights up. She did manage to puke on me. Lonnie is keeping score.....mommy 2 and daddy 1. He really likes it when I get ralfed on---I know you all can't picture his satisfaction at that :-).

Mom and I have discovered that watching a movie in the evening is the ticket to passing time. We borrow one a night from our friend over here, and that is what we do to make us sleepy. We are thrilled to hear English. We are tired of watching the BBC news station, as we have heard numerous times today about Brazil's new soccer coach and Andy Roddick hiring Jimmy Conners as his new coach---do we really care, NOT! :-)

Well, I guess I'll load the pictures and then mom and I will settle in with a movie. Still no Lonnie. Who knows when he will wander in--when the bones are picked clean.

Mom said to tell you she is learning to count to ten in Russian. That is a project that may take a few days. The little kids were learning that in a session today in our room, and she was diligently paying attention (she got to 5 with them).

We miss you all and think about you --- about every other second, trust me, we have that much time. Dorothy was right, there is no place like home!!! Unfortunately, mom packed everything but the magical red slippers. :-)

lots of love,
us

Dear Pam Lonnie and Sharon,
Graham said I couldn't write today as you would get fed up with us- as you are reading this I got my own way.
I had to giggle at the thought of lonnie drooling over chicken - did he look like Hooch?!!
Now, I think if you are going to teach Marina to share you could practice with letting your Mom have a go with the blog. We want Sharon, We want Sharon. Go Sharon go.
To keep you up to date with what we have been doing, as its really hot and sunny here we went to the beach today, the children did some body boarding and I went for a swim and yes it was frigid!
We have been painting the kitchen so everything seems to be in a mess.
Keep posting the pictures and messages as we have to look every day, My favorite photo is the one of Marina in her snugli and her Daddy in his sunglasses.
And now for the bit of useless information, The UK only allows 300international adoptions per year. We were shocked at how few that was.
Glad you are all well.
Much Love
Julie, Graham
Philip Gem and Jacca.
