kto-nibud' gavarit pa-angliyski? Does anyone speak English?

Finally, Grandma gets a chance at the keyboard. As Paul Harvey would say, here is the rest of the story. As a grandma, I am observing Lonnie and Pam mastering the art of parenthood. Believe it or not, I am amazed. It seems like they have meant to be parents forever. The love that flows between them and Marina melts my heart. The hardest part for them so far is feeding her. But, then it is hard for me too, because they feed her with a tablepoon and the seven month old wonder holds her cup with both hands, at times, and wants to drink by herself. All I can hear in my ears, is my mom saying, Be careful, don't choke her. Different culture here, different way of doing things.....

Now from a grandma's heart. What can I say about Marina Grace.... Well, of course, to me, she is the most wonderful grandbaby a person could hope for. Her smile mesmorizes me, her cooes warm my heart, when I kiss her, I can't suck enough sweetness out of her chubby cheeks. Every day she becomes stronger and more vocal, and at this point, I can't imagine her not being in our lives. I love to smell her hair, I love when she winks at us like Popeye. When it is time to give her back, it is very tough.

It is better here than what we imagined. But, I believe the kids are getting tired of hearing me say that I want to go home...... But, that is of course, when we can take Marina. Nights are the longest and British TV has become a life saver. At least it is close to English (Graham and Julie :-)

Today we got to go to a shop where we picked up momentos for our little one. Things that will be given to her throughout her life from her birthplace. It was very intersting to be in the city and there is such a diversity of people here. It seems that the population, diverse as it is, gets along very well. When it comes to family and love, it is no different no matter where you travel. Well, I am going to give Pam a chance to had her two cents, but it felt good talking to you all.

It is ME, tech girl, I had to give mom a spin at the keyboard, as she has been chomping at the bit to post on the blog. And, and our friend Julie pointed out, Go Sharon, go! :-)
We had tons of fun shopping for Marina this afternoon. I'll have to show you all the goodies we bought when we got home, including the following: a little hat, a painting for her future room, a scarf to hang on the wall in her room, hair pieces, a ring and earring set, and a nesting doll. Plus, we picked up a few other trinkets. Mom even spent some of her tenge(kaz money) on gifts for Marina. We plan on giving them to her on special birthdays. Well, we are pooped, as we were out and about today. Missing you all, please keep the comments coming, we read and re-read them.

love you all lots,
US

It was nice to hear from Grandma...as a Nana myself I understand her heart and it made me teary to read the love in her comments. And, I have to say, several people have commented how Marina resembles Lonnie, but this picture of the two of them on the floor is amazing...they have the same expression on their faces!!! It's so neat that you bought items from her culture for the future. Continued best wishes to all of you...can't wait to see tomorrow's installment!

Hello,
Your website was given to us by a mutual friend. Your daughter is beautiful. We will keep you in our prayers that your stay is pleasant and you can come home soon! We also have an adopted daughter who is from China. We brought her home this April. Good luck with your daughter.

Hi! She gets cuter and cuter everytime I look at the pictures. Could she be any sweeter!! I cannot express how happy I am for you and your family. I can see the joy on your faces and hear the happiness in your hearts - she has been blessed into a loving home with the best parents & family a little girl could wish to have. She is a little angel and I cannot wait to meet her in person and have her play with Hailey and Trevor - they love looking at her pictures!! They pronounce her name "manina" - we are working on the "r". Hugs and kisses from the Peirce clan!

Hello Guys...We hope all is going well. We did not forget about you. When I came back from vacation I caught up on all the news and had a really good cry. Your mom is right you do look like naturals already! I wasn't able to post a comment from my work computer ...restricted access. I had to come over to the neighbors! We are VERY excited for you two. Marina is adorable. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. PS...grandma did just fine on the blog!

Pam, Lonnie, and Sharon,

Glad to hear things continue to go well with your visits - we will pray that Marina can leave with you soon! What a blessing that you can be with her at last.
We went to visit mom and dad at the shore yesterday just for the day, and mom wanted to know if I had checked your blog and wanted to know if you could take Marina home yet. I need to keep her posted! She loves you and is thinking of you! I am sure she is anxious to look at all the pictures when she arrives home on Saturday.
May God bless you and be with you. May you feel His presence keenly and feel His love for your family intensely.
Love,
Paula and family

Just got back from vacation...cause I have to go back to work tomorrow, and had to check out the new pictures. Just spoke with uncle Butch less than an hour ago to see how everything was going. We're all thinking of you and looking forward to having you back home. It was nice to hear from Aunt Sharon too! Let me know if there is anything we can do to help make things easier for or upon your return......I know you're going to be swamped!

Love ya's

Patty
